Advocating for Species, Habitats, and Stakeholders
Experience
With more than a decade of expertise on a multitude of projects focusing on a variety of species and habitats, Summit Ecological Consulting has the experience to serve our clients. We have focused on identifying, assessing, restoring, and monitoring natural and modified ecosystems and their functions and have the experience to guide a project from initial assessment to permitting and beyond.
Depth
We are ecologists with a broad background in natural resource evaluation and management. As a federal endangered species recovery permit holder, our particular area of expertise is in conducting mist-netting, acoustic monitoring, and radio-telemetry surveys for the inventory of bat species, including the federally endangered Indiana bat and federally threatened northern long-eared bat. We have written and implemented bat conservation plans to address unavoidable impacts.
Additionally, we have extensive experience in resource evaluation and assessment methodologies, including wetland delineations, small mammal trapping, reptile and amphibian trapping, dragonfly and damselfly surveys, aquatic macroinvertebrate sampling, electro-shocking methodologies, botanical surveys and assessments, and stream and wetland functional assessments.
Relationships
We have an innate understanding of project goals, budgets, and timelines and strive to fulfill these objectives. These experiences have also allowed us to forge working relationships with federal and state regulatory personnel, which have proven successful in streamlining and expediting projects to a successful conclusion.
